Alex Jones (Alexander Emric Jones) is an American radio show host, film producer and conspiracy theorist born on 11th February 1974 in Dallas, Texas, U.S. He hosts he Alex Jones Show which airs on the Genesis Communications Network. He also the websites NewsWars, PrisonPlanet and which focuses on conspiracy theories and fake news.

Jones began his career with a call-in format public-access cable television program switching to radio in 1996 hosting ‘THe Final Edition on KJFK (98.9 FM). In 1999 he was voted as ‘Best Austin Talk Radio’ by The Austin Chronicles readers. In the same year he was fired from KJFK-FM for refusing to broaden his topics.

While at KJFK-FM he was removed from a George W.Bush rally at Bayport Industrial District after interrupting governor Bush’s speech demanding that the Federal Reserve and Council on Foreign Relations be abolished.

He bgan broadcasting his show from home by internet connection, after layoff from KJFK-FM. His show was late syndicated on approximately 100 stations. Most of the stations later dropped his program after the 9/11 attack after Jones began to speak of a conspiracy by the Bush administration as being behind the attack.

His show ‘The Alex Jones Show’ is broadcast nationally by the Genesis Communications Network to more than 90 AM and FM radio stations in the United States. The Sunday show also airs on KLBJ.

Jones is also the publisher and director of the website. The site receives approximately 10 million monthly visits. In August 2017 he which he said was intended to battle news that he considers to be fake news.

On 6th July 2017 Jones alongside Paul Joseph Watson began hosting a contest to create the best “CNN Meme”, as a response to CNN releasing an article regarding a controversial Reddit user that had created a pro-Trump, anti-CNN meme, in which the winner would receive $20,000.

In February 2018 he was accused by two former employees of antisemitism, anti-black racism and sexual harassment of males and females of which he denied.

On Wednesday during a break of the Senate Intelligence Committee’s hearing with Facebook and Twitter leaders Senator Marco Rubio and Alex Jones had an intense exchange on the hallway.

Jones had attended complained that social media sites including facebook, YouTube and Twitter had censored him and banned or removed his content. During the break he approached Rubio while he was addressing reporters and broke into Rubio’s comments repeatedly.

Rubio tried to ignore him until Jones called him a “frat boy” and a “snake.” Rubio laughed him off saying he didn’t know who he was and Jones made physical contact apparently touching him on the shoulder.

“Don’t touch me again, man. I’m asking you not to touch me,” Rubio said.

“Well, sure, I just patted you nicely,” Jones said.

“I know, but I don’t want to be touched,” Rubio said. “I don’t know who you are.”

Jones talked over him, saying he wanted him to be arrested, and Rubio said he didn’t know who Jones was.

“You’re not going to get arrested, man. You’re not going to get arrested; I’ll take care of you myself,” Rubio said.

Alex Jones Twitter Ban

On 6th September 2018 Twitter permanently suspended Alex Jnes and his Inforwars website accounts. Twitter said that the ban was as a result of  ‘new reports of Tweets  and videos posted yesterday that violate our abusive behavior policy, in addition to the account’s past violations’.

‘not typically comment on enforcement actions…against individual accounts but was open about this action given the broad interest in this case.’ It added.

In August Twitter came under criticism when it refused to ban InfoWars and Alex Jones accounts despite other online platforms like YouTube, Facebook, Apple and Spotify deleting his content.

Jack Dorsey, Twitter Ceo, said at the time he had not violated the Twitter’s rules but promised to suspend them if they ever did so.
