Amanda Hara is an American Multi- Award-winning Journalist who currently anchors the 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.newscasts on WVLT and the 10:00 p.m. newscast on CW Monday through Friday

Amanda also serves as an Executive Producer of Digital Content having joined the WVLT news team in 2012. Throughout her journalism career, she has won Emmy, Edward R. Murrow, and Associated Press awards.

The ceremony was attended by close friends and family who traveled to Norway to celebrate the couple.

She got her very first job at the age of 8 when her parents allowed her to start a small neighborhood newspaper selling 25-cent copies. She reported about missing pets, Garbage collection date and it was then she realized there was much more to journalism and that television news was the path to follow. She says no other medium combines pictures and words to create such powerful messages.

Being a longtime horse rider, it was only fitting that Lexington, Kentucky was the next stop for The news anchor.. Amanda grew up showing Hunter/Jumpers, she also helped her mother breed, deliver and train three foals on their small horse farm,She was awrded an Emmy While at WLEX in Lexington, for a report on the historic Keeneland racetrack.

This was also where Amanda picked up her first thoroughbred, “Unafraid” who she now keeps with her in Knoxville. In early mornings she worked a thoroughbred farm in the mornings, helping break horses for the track

Amanda’s career came full-blown when she moved back to Tennessee to work at WTVF in Nashville. At WTVF she had the opportunity to share incredible stories alongside some of the most talented photojournalists in the country.
