He reported extensively from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, and Kosovo during the fall of Yugoslavia, and his stories helped the BBC win several awards, including a BAFTA. He got the Bayeux-Calvados Award for War Correspondents for the second time in 2001 for his coverage of the Israeli Intifad
