Carli Skaggs is the wife of the late American professional baseball pitcher who played for the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball (MLB) Tyler Skaggs who died on July 1, 2019. The couple got married in 2018.

Carli Skaggs Wedding – Tyler Skaggs Wife

Carli and Tyler got married in 2018. During an interview with Wealth Management, they revealed that their wedding venue, Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, was almost destroyed by the raging wildfires in late 2018.

“Five days before the wedding, we learned the guest ranch would not be available due to the fire. The fires were followed by the threat of rain, which meant mudslides were a possibility.” Carli said.

Tyler also gushed that 2018 wat the best year yet and did post a series of photos from their wedding.

Carli together with her husband Tyler had no children but they were planning to start a family.  According to wealthmanagement.com, the couple had bought a home in Santa Monica, Calif., Skaggs’s hometown, he also had established a “rainy day fund” and plans to start a family in the future.

“Tyler wants his children to be able to see him pitch,” Carli said during the interview.

Who Is Tyler Skaggs

Tyler Skaggs was an American professional baseball pitcher who played for the Los Angeles Angels. He was selected by Angels in the first round of the 2009 MLB draft.

Tyler began his career playing for Santa Monica high school team. He was named the player of the year in the Ocean League in 2008, during his junior year.

During the 2009 Major League Baseball draft he was selected by the Los Angeles Angel in the first round. e made his professional debut that season at the Rookie-level in minor league baseball with the Arizona Angels of the Arizona League and the Orem Owlz of the Pioneer League.

He was placed on the disabled list on July 4 and again on August 4 with adductor strains. In the beginning of 2019 season, he was again placed on the disabled list after a left ankle sprain. He activated on April 26.

Tyler Skaggs Death

Tyler was found dead in his hotel room on July 1, 2019 as he was in Texas and was set to play on the day he died as a result of his death the game was called off. The Southlake Police Department released a statement saying that they responded to a call from Hilton hotel at 1400 Plaza Place at 2:18 p.m. and they found Tyler unresponsive and was declared dead at the scene.

His team Angels released a statement which read; “It is with great sorrow that we report Tyler Skaggs passed away earlier today in Texas. Tyler has, and always be, an important part of the Angels family. Our thoughts and prayers with his wife Carli and his entire family during this devastating time.”

Robert D. Manfred Jr., baseball commissioner, paid tribute to Skaggs in a statement saying, “I am deeply saddened by today’s tragedy in Texas. All of us at Major League Baseball extend our deepest condolences to Tyler’s wife Carli, their family, their friends and all of his Angels’ teammates and colleagues. We will support the Angels’ organization through this most difficult period, and we will make a variety of resources available to Tyler’s teammates and other members of the baseball family.”
