Diogo Dalot Biography
Diogo Dalot full name José Diogo Dalot Teixeira is a Portuguese professional footballer born on 18th March 1999 in Braga, Portugal. He was signed by Manchester United on 6th June 2018 to play as a full-back. He formerly played as Porto defender.
Diogo Dalot Career
At the age of 9 in 2008 Diogo Dalot joined Porto’s youth system. He made his senior debut with the B team on 28th January 2017, playing the full 90 minutes in a 2–1 home loss against Leixões S.C. for the LigaPro championship.
During the 2016 UEFA European Under- 17 Championship he helped Portugal win by scoring twice in five games in Azerbaijan including once in the final against Spain. The same year, he helped the under-19 team reach the quarter-finals of the same competition.
After starting three of Portugal’s first four games at the tournament, in which they scored 12 goals without reply, Dalot went on to net in a 2-0 semi-final win over the Netherlands.
Diogo Dalot represented the nation at the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup,starting in all the matches in an eventual quarter-final exit.
Diogo Dalot first appeared with the first team in competitive games on 13 October 2017, starting in a 6–0 away win over Lusitano G.C. for the season’s Taça de Portugal. He first played in the Primeira Liga on 18 February 2018, coming on as a 75th-minute substitute in a 5–0 home routing of Rio Ave FC.
In February 2018 Dalot made his first team debut at the age of 18, coming off the bench in a 5-0 win over Rio Ave. After another substitute appearance against Estoril, Dalot then started four consecutive games for Porto, recording two assists in the first of those against Portimonense.

On 6th June 2018 Diogo Dalot signed a five year contract for a fee of £19 million with an option to extend for a further year.
