Ian Harvey Hanomansing is a Canadian television journalist who currently works with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC). He was previously working as a host for CBC News Network Vancouver. He was also reporting for CBC Television’s nightly newscast, The National. Hanomansing was then announced as the co-anchor of The National on 1st August 2017.

Hanomansing began his career in radio shortly after graduating. In the summer, he worked at CKDH in Amherst, Nova Scotia. In Moncton, New Brunswick, he also worked at CKCW. Later, he went to work for CHNS in Halifax, Nova Scotia. In 1986, he joined the CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation).
He has worked for CBC bureaus in the Maritimes and Toronto, Ontario, before relocating to Vancouver. Ian then went on to work for a network as a reporter. He hosted Pacific Rim Report, Times 7 (a cooperative effort with The New York Times), and Foreign Assignment, all of which are now defunct.
Hanomansing spent seven years as the national anchor of the now-defunct newscast Camada Now (2000-2007). In 2007, he became the co-anchor of CBS News: Vancouver, CBUT’s supper hour newscast, then relocated in 2010 after the show was canceled. In 2010, he returned to his prior position as a network reporter for The National.
He presented CBC News Now with Ian Hanomansing from 2012 to 2017. On weeknights, this was broadcast live from CBC Vancouver. He was announced as one of four new co-hosts of The National, CBC’s flagship news program, on August 1, 2017, alongside Adrienne Arsenault, Rosemary Barton, and Andrew Chang.
