TweetDeck threads were based on surviving a “School Shooting” which can be seen on his other account, “viewsfromnas”.
In 2008 Lil Nas X began uploading songs to SoundCloud. He released his country rap song “Old Town Road” on 3ed December 2018. In early 2019 the song went viral due to the “Yeehaw Challenge” meme on media app TikTok.It debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 83 and later peaking at 15. It also debuted number 19 on the Hot Country Songs and number 36 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs but was controversially removed in March 2019.
After the song was pulled out from Billboard Hot Country songs Nax did an interview with Time Magazine where he said that the song is a country trap and refuted people’s claims that it was pulled off the chart because of his race but said it was as a result of the hesitancy of embracing something new.
“The song is country trap. It’s not one, it’s not the other. It’s both. It should be on both… I believe whenever you’re trying something new, it’s always going to get some kind of bad reception. For example, when rap started, or when rock and roll began. But with country trap, I in no way want to take credit for that. I believe Young Thug would be one of the biggest pioneers in that.”
