Kent Damon Bio – Who Is Matt Damon Father
Kent Damon (Kent Telfer Damon) was a stockbroker, actor and the father of actor Matt Damon. He died on December 14, 2017, after a long battle with multiple myeloma, a form of plasma cell cancer.

Kent was married to Nancy Carlsson Paige but they later divorced. The two met while they both were attending school in the NorthEastern United States. Nancy was studying education while Kent was studying economics and business.

Kent Damon Career
Kent began his career on Wall Street as a stockbroker. He eventually expanded his investments into real estate and began selling large properties as a realtor.
In 1997 he appeared on Matt’s breakout film, ‘Good Will Hunting’ as a chess player, Matt starred as a young janitor with a hidden gift for mathematics.
In 2003 he appeared in another of Matt’s film, ‘Stuck On You’, which starred Matt as one half of a set of conjoined twins.
Matt talked about his family’s experience with cancer in a PSA from Stand Up To Cancer that premiered during the Major League Baseball All-Star Game in Cleveland on July 9, 2019.
In the public announcement, Damon was shown entering Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles with a young cancer survivor, Red Sox cap in tow. In a voice-over, Matt mentioned the importance of unity when it comes to fighting cancer.

Kent was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of plasma cell cancer that affects a person’s bone marrow in 2010. Matt talked about his father’s condition while promoting his film ‘Downsizing’. He said that at the time the prognosis was not good.
“It’s been a slow unfolding; my dad’s sick, so that’s a process we’re going through. We’ll take any prayers you got, so throw ‘em up there.”
Matt has helped raise awareness for cancer and after his father was diagnosed he said he was grateful to the medical professionals, “My family is so grateful for the care you’ve given us….It’s deeply humbling to see how many people here are committing their lives to helping others. We’ve lost some close personal friends to cancer in recent years, but I never thought it would happen to my dad, the marathon runner. It sucked.”
Damon was shown during the “placard moment” — when players and fans at a baseball game stand up to identify loved ones and friends who have been touched by cancer. Damon holds up a sign that says, “I stand up for DAD.”
Kent died on December 14, 2017, at the age of 74 after a long battle with cancer.
