Miranda Shurer is an American Citizen who is known as the wife of former U.S. Army Green Beret medic and Medal of Honor recipient Staff Sgt. Ronald Shurer II. Ronald died on May 14, 2020 after he struggled with cancer. Ronald was diagnosed with cancer three years ago, died at Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington, D.C. Shurer had received the Medal of Honor from President Donald Trump in October 2018, in a formal White House ceremony attended by 250 people. The medal is the highest award and most distinguished military decoration that a member of the United States armed forces can receive.
At this time Shurer served as a senior Special Forces combat medic with the 3rd Special Forces Group. His team encountered machine gun and sniper fire and rocket-propelled grenades from an enemy force of more than 200 fighters in northeastern Afghanistan’s Skok Valley on April 6. 2008.

Ronald stabilized one of the soldiers and then run through enemy fire and up a mountain to the lead members of the unit, here he stabilized 4 more soldiers. He personally helped evacuate the soldiers down the steep mountainside, using his body to shield them from enemy fire and shrapnel.
