Ruby Storm is a 14-year-old daughter of James Small and Christina Storm. Her mother Christina is a South African model and actress while her father, James Small, was a former South African rugby union footballer who played on the wing for the Springboks, he died on July 10, 2019, due to a heart attack.

Ruby is the daughter of Christina Storm who is a South African model and actress best known for her fashion modelling and for appearing in over 200 television commercials. She made her acting debut in 2007 in the M-Net soapie Egoli, playing the role of Bienkie Naude. She was also a contestant on M-Net’s Survivor South Africa: Santa Carolina in 2010.

Ruby is the daughter of James Small who was a South African rugby union footballer who played on the wing for the Springboks. In 1992 James made his international debut, playing against the All Blacks and made his final appearance against Scotland in 1997. He scored his 20th try in the final test becoming the leading Springbok try scorer.
James was known as the “bad boy” of South African rugby and used to be involved night club brawls but he said he transformed from that image due to his daughter.
James shared custody of Ruby with her mother. He sold his restaurant in Cape Town and moved to Johannesburg, where Christina lived so that he could spend time with his daughter. During an interview, he said that he would sacrifice anything in the world for his daughter.
“I’d happily sacrifice anything in the world for her. I don’t want to sound pathetic but I’ll be with her for the rest of my life. If they move to Australia I’ll move into the house next door.”
James also said that he wanted to teach Ruby to stand up for herself but at the same time, he doesn’t want to say anything negative about Ruby’s mother.
“She’s a good mother – but I want to go on the record for my child’s sake. I’m teaching her to stand up for herself. One day she’s going to ask me, ‘Dad, why didn’t you defend yourself?’”
James Small Heart Attack – How Did James Small Die
On July 10, 2019 James died of a heart attack at the age of 50. His death was confirmed by South Africa rugby president Mark Alexander who released a statement which read;
“James, as a member of the triumphant Rugby World Cup squad from 1995, will always have a special place in the hearts and minds of the South African public and we were devastated to hear of his passing. He always played with the type of passion and courage that encapsulate what Springbok rugby stands for, and he lived his life in the same way. At 50 years old, James Small died too young. Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends during this very sad time.”
