Salli Kidd is an American Journalist and traveler who currently works as a senior correspondent for Hearst Television, covering the White House, Congress, and federal agencies for the Hearst network of 26 stations.

Sally Kidd came to the Washington news bureau in September 2004 from Orlando, Fla., where she worked as a reporter for our sister station, WESH-TV for 7 years. She spent much of her career working at TV stations in the Sunshine State, including reporting and anchoring jobs in Fort Myers, Pensacola, Gainesville, and Panama City.

But her roots are in Cajun country. Sally received her degree in broadcast journalism from Louisiana State University. She landed her first job in radio, broadcasting traffic reports from an airplane in the skies above Baton Rouge.

Sally says her interest in climbing one of the world’s tallest mountains was sparked 10 years ago when she interviewed a judge how had just returned. He told her that it didn’t require a lot of technical skill, and he had climbed it to celebrate his 50th birthday.
