Sophie Gradon Bio
Sophie Gradon is a former British beauty pageant winner (2009) and contestant on Love Island (2016) born on 25th October 1985 in Newcastle, United Kingdom. She died on 2oth June 2018 under unclear circumstances. She became popularly known after appearing on the ITV2 dating show, ‘Love Island‘. She is a former Miss Newcastle and Miss Great Britain in 2009.
She did her GCSEs and A Levels at Dame Allen’s School and later joined Northumbria University to study Media, Culture and Society and left with a level 2:1 degree.
In 2008 she won the coveted title pf Miss Newcastle. One year later, in 2009, she won the title of Miss Great Britain.
She became the face of the NE1 campaign which aimed at promoting Newcastle City Centre and helped charities raise money for good causes.

On 20th June 2018 a spokesperson from Northumbria police released a statement saying;
“At about 8.27pm yesterday police attended a property in Medburn, Ponteland, where sadly a 32-year-old woman was found deceased. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. A report will now be prepared for the coroner.”

Her cause of death is not yet established although according to a recent tweet she was going through personal issue.

She was fighting mental health illness, after appearing on Love Island she remained removed from the spotlight. In September 2017 she discussed her mentl health issues on twitter, tweeting
‘Hi guys, no not dead just battling a little bit of depression. I’ll come back I promise x’.
On 21st June 2018 Malin Anderson, former Love Island contestant, raised concerns over the aftercare provided to the Love Island contestants as she mentioned the impact of reality TV on mental health.

She was a contestant in the 2016 series of the ITV2 dating show, ‘Love Island’. She coupled up with Thomas Powell in the villa. She made headlines when she began a relationship with fellow contestant Katie Salmon, becoming first bisexual couple on the ITV2 dating show. She also had sex with a male co-star in a wardrobe.
Following the news of her death a spokesman for ITV said;
‘The whole ITV2 and Love Island team are profoundly saddened to hear the news about Sophie, and our deepest sympathies and thoughts go to her family and friends.’

She was in a relationship with Aaron Armstrong, after her death he posted a photo of himself with her on his Facebook page captioning
“I will never forget that smile I love you so so much baby your [sic] my world forever ever and always.”
