Da Baby Career
DaBaby began his career in rapping in December 2014 and in January 2015 he released his mixtape ‘Non-Fiction’ under the name ‘Baby Jesus’. The mixtape received over 10, 000 streams in the first 48 hours with no promotion apart from a post he made on his Instagram account.
During an interview, he revealed that early in his life he listened to Eminem, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, everything that his two older brothers were listening to. As he grew older he said that Lil Wayne was of big influence as at that time he had an understanding of what he was listening to.
“I had already been successful with the things I was doing on the streets; I really kind of got bored with it. I was all about touching people and influencing people, I always been that type of person. I was the one teaching people things, I just always had a way with my words and I always spoke with substance. I figured what better way to touch people and change people lives than with the music because a lot of the things that I listen to before I started rapping—I started rapping in 2014—they were rapping about my actual life.
I had a couple of foreign cars and this at the age of 21. I was staying at a condo downtown, things like that. If everything I was listening to is so relatable than me, I can paint a better picture of these things. I always have been the type of person who said what’s next. So I started rapping. I didn’t even know what the term producer meant. But when I made my first song and it was a hit and I took off running from there.”

Da Baby Shoots and Kills a man at Huntersville Walmart
On 5th November 2018, DaBaby shot and killed a man, 19-year-old Jalyn Domonique Craig, inside the Huntersville Walmart at around 8 PM. According to local reports Da Baby was in Walmart grocery shopping while he got into a confrontation with a man in the meat section. A fight broke up and Da Baby shot the man dead.
The reports allege that Da Baby waited for police to arrive after the incidence. They are reports that the deceased man was trying to rob him although it’s not verified.
Da Baby had previously legally shot someone as he revealed during an interview but it did not get a lot of attention as he says he doesn’t like glorifying such acts.
” I like to keep it all about the music rather than the lifestyle I live. Five people ran into my house with guns and masks on and I legally shot somebody and they took off… Those are the things you wouldn’t know because I don’t glorify it.”
Da Baby Arrest
Da Baby along with other four people was arrested and taken to the Huntersville Police department for questioning. Da Baby told the police that he shot the man in self – defense.
