‘When we find singers on these shows, is it about being technical or is it about being relevant? And sometimes, for me, it’s just about being real and a surprise, I’m being honest with you because you were so nervous. I was concerned for you, but I think sometimes actions speak louder than words.’ Simon told him after the performance.

Simon Cowell chock with tears.

His daughter had this to say about Simon “I was super shocked because you
always see Simon as a really hard critic, and then to see him relate to dad so
much, it was so, so touching for me to see,” Sophie added that her father is a
leader and an amazing human being “I think because he has an amazing story and
he’s an amazing human being, I believe that he is a leader and so for him to

Michael said if he win the America’s Got Talent he hopes to use the money for a more accessible home for Rody.

‘He has the capability of using his walker around, but we just don’t have the space for him to be able to do that. He’ll do it while he’s at school, but I want him to be able to do that at home, so absolutely, 100 per cent, I would invest in a house with that money. It would absolutely change his life. It would change all of our lives to be able to have that space for him.’

Michael said that Sophie influenced them to adopt as she used to ask for brothers

‘She would wake up and she would be like, “When are we going to adopt my brothers, my brothers?” And she was really fixated on getting these three little boys, and…when your daughter keeps telling you things like that, you start to listen, like, “Why does she keep having these dreams”? ‘I feel like my eyes were opened up because I always thought of adopting a kid from like another country or out of a bad situation, so if I thought of adopting, that’s what immediately comes to my mind.

But then it’s like here are kids in our own hometown — yeah all of our kids came from within a 12-mile radius of our home — that needed to be adopted, that needed family, and so it was pretty eye-opening, and then once we got warmed up to it, we went to Childhelp, and we got certified.’
