Virginia Trioli Biography
Virginia Frances Trioli is an Australian journalist, television and radio presenter, and author. She hosts ABCs News Breakfast, alongside Michael Rowland, which she has presented since 2008. Before starting at the Age in 1990, she worked as a publicist for a book publisher at the Victorian Ethnic Affairs Commission.
Trioli was the president at the Age Chapter of the Union and worked at the Age until 1999 while working part-time for the Packer organization as a columnist for the Bulletin magazine.

She also won a Walkley award for interviewing former defense minister Peter Reith in 2001 over the Children Overboard Affair.
In 2005 she moved to Sydney to host the morning show on 702 ABC Sydney where she resigned from the role after nearly two years to concentrate on her TV career. In addition to radio, she was a regular commentator on ABC TV program, the insiders and also a weekly host on Sunday Arts. She was announced as the Friday presenter of the ABCs Lateline news and current affairs program.
Trioli moved back to Melbourne in 2008 to commence co-hosting ABCs News Breakfast alongside Barry Cassidy, Joe O’Brien, Paul Kennedy, and Vanessa O’Hanlon. She is still working on ABCs News Breakfast but has confirmed she is going back to radio to take over from Jon Faine as a presenter of ABC Melbourne’s morning radio show.
