Lorraine Gary is the wife to the late Sid Sheinberg, former President and COO of MCA Inc. and Universal Studios. She is a retired American actress known for her role as Ellen Brody in Jaws, Jaws 2, and Jaws: The Revenge.
At the age of 16, Gary won the best actress award in a competition at the prestigious Pasadena Playhouse. She was awarded a scholarship to enroll at the Pasadena Playhouse but declined. She later enrolled at Columbia University where she studied political science as a major.\

Lorraine Gary Acting Career
Gary is a life member of the Actors Studio, she began acting in the late 1960s by making guest appearances on several popular TV shows such as: Night Gallery, Dragnet 1968, in an episode entitled “The Big Shipment”, McCloud, The Marcus-Nelson Murders (the pilot for Kojak), and The F.B.I.
Her first major role was as a guest star on the TV series Ironside, starring in seven episodes. She also owned a production company, New Hope Productions.
Gary retired from acting in 1979 after her appearance in the film 1941. She later came out of retirement to reprise her role as Ellen Brody for the third time in Jaws: The Revenge, released in 1987.
